Unlike calcium phosphates, hydroxyapatite can remain thermodynamically stable under different temperatures and pH levels. Apart from this, it offers high rigidity, better enamel remineralization than saliva, faster bone healing at the bone-implant interface, and compositional closeness to bone minerals. At present, hydroxyapatite is mainly bifurcated into nano and micro-sized types.
