Yoghurt & Other Dairy Product Processing in the UK - Industry Market Research Report
Yoghurt & Other Dairy Product Processing in the UK
Changing consumer tastes and volatile ingredient prices have caused turbulence for dairy processors in recent years. Industry revenue is expected to dip at a compound annual rate of 0.5% over the five years through 2022-23 to £942.7 million. Price changes have also caused profitability to be volatile as cost pressures from supermarkets have limited dairy processors' ability to hike prices. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, demand from supermarkets partially offset a fall in demand from food service operators, but sales still dropped down in 2020-21. However, since then, the industry's on track for two consecutive years of growth, including an expected 1.4% in 2022-23.
This industry covers the production of fermented milk-based products other than liquid milk, cream, butter and cheese. Yoghurt, creme fraiche, sour cream, milk-based soft drinks, yoghurt drinks, powdered milk, whey, casein, rennet and lactose are all included. Products from a non-dairy source are excluded, as are foods serving a specific nutritional purpose, such as infant milk formula and whey-based protein supplements.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
