Banks in Ireland - Industry Market Research Report

Banks in Ireland

The Irish government holds hefty stakes in some of Ireland's largest lenders. However, the Department of Finance has been divesting some of its stakes in the sector recently – the Bank of Ireland became fully privatised in 2022. Allied Irish Banks also saw a big decline in its state-owned assets, from 71% at the start of 2022 to 47% in June 2023.

The Banks industry covers the retail and commercial banking activities of deposit-taking institutions. Retail and commercial banks accept deposits from and make loans to individuals and businesses.

This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
