Toray Industries has developed a biomimetic fabric for the spring/summer 2023 season called Qticle
FIBRES
Birla Cellulose and Nanollose have completed the first run of a pilot operation for producing a high tenacity lyocell fibre made from bacterial cellulose
Evrnu has developed a high performance fibre called NuCycl r-lyocell which is made from 100% cotton textile waste
FOOTWEAR
Skechers has developed a footwear collection called Our Planet Matters as a result of a partnership with The Nature Conservancy
Tropicfeel and Hyosung have collaborated in the development of a waterproof shoe which is made using environmentally sustainable materials
NEW COLLECTIONS
Zara will collaborate with LanzaTech in the development of an apparel capsule collection which will be made using materials derived from recycled carbon dioxide (CO2)
SOFTENERS
Archroma has developed a softener called Earth Soft which is made using plant based materials
YARNS
Fulgar and BASF have collaborated in the development of a polyamide 6.6 yarn called Q-Cycle which is made from post-consumer car tyres
Marchi & Fildi has developed a range of metallic yarns which are made using 100% polyester derived from post-consumer waste
TMC has developed a strong and durable yarn called Herculan which is made using repurposed carpet wool
