Metaverse shopping mall launched amid the growing popularity among consumers in Mexico

• In October 2022, a Mexican entrepreneur announced the launch of the country's first metaverse shopping mall, Island Shopping Mall, which houses over 80 brands currently. Notably, the shopping mall plans to host more than 800 brands from a short-term perspective.
• Among the leading brands that are currently selling products inside the metaverse mall include LA Colors, LA Girl, Bath & Body Works, and Victoria’s Secret, among others. Notably, the developers have made the metaverse shopping mall accessible on both Android and Apple devices.
• To further bring more brands into the virtual shopping world, the metaverse shopping mall has entered into a strategic collaboration with The Savings Group Limited, a UK-based firm specializing in discount coupons. Through the partnership, the mall will integrate an additional 879 brands on its platform. These brands will include leading names such as Nike, Puma, Guess, Adidas, and Apple, among others.

Mexican investors are heavily investing in metaverse projects launched by firms operating in the space

• Flink, a Mexico-based firm that allows investors to buy fractional shares in big tech firms operating in the metaverse space, announced that more than 13,000 Mexicans have invested in the metaverse sector as of February 2022.
