Global Firefighting Foam Market Analysis 2022
The Global Firefighting Foam Market is expected to reach $1,304.13 million by 2028 growing at a CAGR of 4.8% from 2021 to 2028. Firefighting foam is foam used for fire suppression. Its major function is to cool the fire and to coat the fuel, preventing its contact with oxygen, resulting in suppression of the combustion. Firefighting foam is perfectly suited to suppress fire. It is composed of premix solution (a ratio of water and foam concentrate) mixed with air. It forms a stable foam blanket which spreads above the fuels and adheres to surfaces. The use of fire fighting foam concentrate prevents fuel contact with oxygen, resulting in fire suppression. It also has a high cooling effect and will avoid reignition. Some types of the foam forms a film above the fuel surface and seals vapours.
Factors such as rising development of fluorine-free foams, growing technologies to ease the issues related to firefighting foam, and growing fire-related accidents are driving the growth of the market. However, presence of stringent regulations for production of firefighting foams and lack of standardized regulatory body for approval of firefighting foam globally are restraining the growth of the market.
Based on end user, the oil & gas segment is going to have a lucrative growth during the forecast period which can be attributed to the rising demand for firefighting foams from the oil & gas industry. Moreover, the companies operating in oil & gas industry regularly face fire safety issues. Firefighting foam offers protection against class A and B fires that generally includes materials or liquids that liquefy such as oils, paints, and fats. In addition, oil and gas facilities have marine vessels, bulk fuel storage tanks, and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO). These facilities are equipped with onboard fire suppression systems to minimize fire safety issues and the likelihood of high hazards.
