Flow Wrap Machines Market Forecasts to 2028 – Global Analysis By Type (Horizontal, Vertical), Application (Electronics, Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Soap & Detergent), and By Geography
According to Stratistics MRC, the Global Flow Wrap Machines Market is accounted for $2,868.51 million in 2021 and is expected to reach $3,903.65 million by 2028 growing at a CAGR of 4.5% during the forecast period. Flow wrapping is also referred to as crimp-seal wrapping, pillow pouch wrapping, fin seal wrapping and horizontal wrapping. Flow wrap machine is a fully automatic machine capable of packing various shapes namely cubical, cylindrical and others. In flow wrapping, a product having any shape and size can be wrapped effectively and in a printed or a clear PP (poly propylene) film. The end point is a flexible and a resilient package which has crimped seals and a non-lap kind of seal at the bottom. The film is tightly wrapped around the product in order to avoid chances of spill as well as reducing the shifting of the product within the packaging. Flow wrap machines are used for the purpose of clean and efficient film wrapping of products. There are two types of orientations of flow wrapping machines, depending upon the commodity to be wrapped or the end product usage, namely, vertical and horizontal wrapping. Apart from convenient packaging they offer speedy package production of products, and hence are used in many industry verticals.
Market Dynamics:
Driver:
Growing demand from packaging industry
Superior to overwrapping in many ways, flow-wrapping is extensively used for packaging trillions of products such as food items, cosmetics, electronic components, and machinery. Horizontal wrapping machines are suitable for packaging identical individual products at high speed. They are extensively used for confectionary, bakery items, household items, and refrigerated products. Depending on machines model and the end-packaging intended, the packing speed of these machines range between 20 and 800 pieces per minute. The flow wrapping machines offer firm packaging solutions to several commodities and provide several package shape alignments such as cubical alignments, cylindrical alignments, rectangular alignments, conical alignments etc. Moreover, shape and size of the product or the commodity poses no threat to the packaging thus making them a flexible packaging solution. They are also used in applications which require higher volume effective packaging solutions.
Restraint:
Additional production cost
Flow wrap machines are a bit more expensive and assembly and installation are required for these machines. The buyer is responsible for that task and cost. Charges vary depending on geographical location and nature of the facility.
Opportunity:
Manufacturers investing in R&D
The manufacturer’s optimization to offer automated and fast flow wrap machine is expected to boost the demand and subsequently the demand in the forecast period. Moreover, the companies are investing in the research and development of the flow wrapper and in the marketing of the products, which is expected to contribute to the growth of the flow wrap machine market.
Threat:
Loss of barcodes
As the packaging material is automatically shrink, if the improper packaging film is selected, it will cause the packaging to fall. As the thermal shrinking packaging film in the printing process must be shrinking, bar codes can only be read by accurate representation, therefore, strict design and printing quality control must be carried out. Otherwise, after the pattern is shrunk and deformed, the bar code quality will be unqualified or cannot be read.
The pharmaceuticals segment is expected to be the largest during the forecast period
The pharmaceuticals segment is estimated to have a lucrative growth due to the increasing use of flow wrap machines in the pharmaceutical industry. Using flow wrap machines in pharmaceuticals helps in ensuring fast and efficient packaging of the products. Flow wrap machines are efficient packaging solution that is used for large, high volume packaging needs. Besides, it is also used in wrapping syringes and other medical devices, enabling longer shelf life of the product.
The food & beverage segment is expected to have the highest CAGR during the forecast period
The food & beverage segment is anticipated to witness the fastest CAGR growth during the forecast period. Flow wrap machines are known for their rapid yet a firm packaging style. The flexible packaging that these flow wrap machines provide makes them indispensable option for packaging food items. Moreover, food and beverage companies are also raising, which will throw a positive impact on the growth of the flow wrap machines in the near future. They are also used in applications which require higher volume effective packaging solutions.
Region with highest share:
Asia Pacific is projected to hold the largest market share during the forecast period due to the increasing production of food and beverages in the region. Over the past few decades, Asia Pacific has emerged as a hub for pharmaceutical industries, and demand for flow wrap machines is further expected to increase. Currently, India and China collectively account for three-fourth of the overall revenue generated from the pharmaceuticals market in Asia Pacific therefore, the demand for flow wrap machines in these regions is anticipated to be relatively high and the trend is expected to continue over the forecast period.
Region with highest CAGR:
North America is projected to have the highest CAGR over the forecast period owing to the rise in the development of these companies in various countries. Furthermore, the occurrence of major key players will further boost the growth of the flow wrap machines market in the region during the forecast period. In addition, the potential prospects for the flow wrap machines are further anticipated to propel the growth of the flow wrap machines market in the region in the coming years.
