United States Liposuction Surgery Market Insights (Cosmetic Surgical Procedures, Cosmetic Minimally Invasive Procedures, Reconstructive Procedures, Demographic Trends Percentage Change by Age Group, Female, Male, Ethnic, Regional Percentage, National Average Surgeon/Physician Fee)
Liposuction surgery is the most common minimally invasive cosmetic surgery procedure in patients between the ages 35 and 64 in the United States. More than 211,067 procedures were carried out in the United States in 2020, with costs ranging from roughly $3,637, as per the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Liposuction is increasingly used as an adjunct to enhance other aesthetic procedures such as cervicoplasty, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, gluteal fat transfer, and body contouring after bariatric surgery.
Additionally, liposuction is advantageous in that the removal of fat cells limits the future deposition of fat in those areas. Eventually, liposuction allows plastic surgeons to semi-permanently redistribute volume according to a patient’s ideal, with morbidity, lower complication, and mortality rates than with other surgical procedures.
