Global Gas Chromatography Market
Global Gas Chromatography Market was valued at US$ 2.8 Billion in 2021 & is expected to reach up to US$ 3.8 Billion by 2027 at a CARG 5.15% from 2022-2027.
Gas Chromatography (GC) is an analytical technique used for identification & separation of compounds from chemical mixture. Gas Chromatography is capable of separating highly complex mixture based on principle of difference of boiling point/vapour pressure and of polarity. The separation, identification, and quantification of components of mixture of organic compound is done by selective partitioning between the stationary and mobile phase inside the column followed by sequential elution of separated components. The technique is fit for separation of compound having characteristics such as high volatility, thermal stability, and low molecular weights.
It involves the use of flame ionization detectors (FIDs) and thermal conductivity detectors (TCDs) for the detection of trace components and organic and inorganic compounds The volatile gaseous compounds (VOC) are carried by an inert gas, such as helium, argon, hydrogen or nitrogen, across the sample injector, flow controller, chromatography column and detector for data acquisition and analysis.
Market Drivers
Noteworthy rise in pharmaceutical industry across the globe is one of the important components to drive the growth of Gas Chromatography (GC) market. The widespread acceptance of GC across industries such as Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Biotechnology, Medical & Cosmetic propel the market growth. Additionally surge in popularity of hyphenated chromatographic technique such as GC-MS further boost the growth of the gas chromatography market size.
