The Moldovan economy is recovering slower than we expected from the shock of the war in neighbouring Ukraine. We forecast GDP growth of 2.4% for 2024, after a subdued 0.7% y/y growth in 2023. Last year, domestic demand slumped against a backdrop of uncertain consumer and business confidence, still high inflation, and persistent security risks. Recovery was helped by net exports, driven by a strong harvest.
