Analysis by Region - Emerging Markets - Dominican Republic

We forecast the Dominican Republic will grow by 4.6% in 2024 and 4.9% in 2025. This follows weak growth of 2.4% last year. Stronger consumption and investment amid the easing cycle started by the central bank last year, and a recovery in exports of goods and strong tourism inflows, will boost demand-side growth this year. However, downside risks persist such as extreme weather events, spillovers from Haiti’s security crisis, and the US economy slowdown. Our forecasts are above consensus of 4.5% for 2024-2025.
