The latest set of changes to the Labour Force Survey still leaves us well short of having usable data for headline UK labour market series. The revisions reduce the discrepancy in levels terms with other sources, but the problem of extreme volatility remains. Frustratingly, the Office for National Statistics has said it could be 2027 before the long-term solution is finally in place.
