Macro - Country Economic Forecasts - Tonga
We slightly revised our FY2024 GDP forecast for Tonga down by 0.25ppts to 2.25% growth due to slower-than-expected rebuilding efforts after the 2022 Hunga Tonga‒Hunga Ha’apai (HTHH) volcanic eruption and tsunami. Impaired tourism services and facilities lead us to expect international visitor arrivals will only recover to pre-pandemic levels in FY2026.
