The ongoing war in Sudan is forecast to trigger the country's eighth consecutive annual economic contraction this year. After nearly two years of war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Sudan's main paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the chances of an end to the war are slightly better than a year ago. Earlier this month, the SAF made major territorial gains, securing much of Khartoum, which it lost to the RSF as soon as the war started. The ministry has confirmed that plans are underway to address Sudan’s post-war recovery.
