Macro - Country Economic Forecasts - Malaysia

We have lowered our 2025 GDP growth forecast for Malaysia by 0.3ppts to 4.0%, a slowdown from the 5.1% expansion in 2024. The downgrade to this year's projection largely reflects shifting base effects. We expect underlying momentum will remain relatively healthy. Growing inflationary risks and currency pressures suggest monetary policy is unlikely to change this year.
