Macro - Country Economic Forecasts - Haiti
We have marginally raised our 2023 GDP forecast for Haiti by 0.1ppt to a 2.3% contraction due to progress on structural reforms to combat corruption and enhance political stability. However, flash floods in June likely hampered economic activity. The Dominican Republic recently closed its border with Haiti, which could accentuate the hunger crisis since many Haitians cross the border for food.
