Country Economic Forecasts - Poland
High-frequency indicators show that Poland’s economy has maintained strong growth momentum so far in Q1. But Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will trim GDP growth this year through the impact on trade and commodity prices. It’s too early to incorporate the impact in our forecast, as the final scope of economic sanctions is not yet known, so we have kept our GDP forecast for 2022 at 4.8%, and 2023 at 3.7% for now. But we intend to update our forecast at the next data release on March 8. Poland’s economy ended 2021 on a high note, expanding 1.7% q/q, and taking annual GDP growth to 5.7%, in line with our forecast.
