Country Economic Forecasts - Kuwait
Kuwait has announced that it will ease most Covid restrictions including the ban on foreign travel and testing requirements for those who are fully vaccinated. Authorities have also eased restrictions for those without a vaccine, allowing them to enter shopping malls as well as entertainment facilities, with social distancing requirements also scrapped. Although there will have been a hit to activity in Q1 due to the relatively short-lived restrictions, we expect a strong bounce-back in Q2 so our 2022 forecast for non-oil GDP growth is unchanged at 4.7%, up from an estimated 3.1% in 2021.
