Moreover, major players in the industry have been focusing on the development of secure and high-speed 5G broadband, along with strategic alliances with public and private organizations, which has been favorable for 5G infrastructure market expansion. To quote an instance, in December 2020, Affirmed Networks, a Microsoft subsidiary specializing in software for mobile carriers, partnered with Inventec, a Taiwanese manufacturer of consumer technology solutions, to provide secure 5G networks for their smart manufacturing.
To cite another instance, in October 2021, Ciena Corporation, a telecommunications company, joined hands with Samsung Electronics Co., a South Korean multinational electronics corporation, to deliver 5G network solutions to the market. The agreement was purposed to expand 5G networks by leveraging the combination of the two firms’ software and hardware solutions.
In another instance, in February 2022, Airspan Networks, a U.S.-based telecommunications company, partnered with Cisco, a multinational technology firm, to participate in Cisco’s Private 5G program that aims to accelerate 5G adoption of private networks for Industry 4.0 applications that require high speed, secure connectivity between machines to improve productivity and automation.
