The France DC Motors Market size is estimated at USD 15.85 million in 2024, and is expected to decline to USD 14.48 million by 2029.
A direct current (DC) motor is an electric machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Through direct current, DC motors take electrical energy and convert it into mechanical rotation. The DC motors are based on magnetic fields that produce electrical currents, which drive the motion of a rotor mounted on an input shaft. The electrical input and the motor's design depend on the output torque and speed. However, the developments happening around Industry 4.0 and the consequent growing demand for automation have led to a significant transformation in the industrial landscape, causing it to move away from traditional DC motors toward more efficient and reliable AC motors. Owing to such developments, the French DC motors market is expected to witness negative growth over the forecast period.
The French DC motor market is semi-consolidated with major global and regional players. The players use advanced technologies to take strategic initiatives such as partnerships, collaborations, mergers, acquisitions, and new product developments. A company is better placed to compete in the market through such initiatives. Some of the recent market developments include:
• April 2023: Maxon Group released its new series of BLDC motors. This new motor represents a significant increase in power density for the company by comparison with its predecessor, the EC20 flat rated at 5W. The 24V motor can have maximum speeds of 15,000 rpm and a no-load speed of 12,300 rpm. The nominal torque increase from the EC20 flat with 7.74 mNm was 16.8 mNm for the 22 mm brushless flat motor.
• March 2023: Orbex Group introduced two new custom products in precision motion solutions. In a compact package, these custom flat DC brushless BLDC motors deliver smooth operation, high precision, excellent power density, and an integral gear reducer. The first unit comprises a 31 mm BLDC motor with two 2-stage planetary reducers and an encoder. It has an output rate of 175 rotations per minute, with a magnetic encoder that has a resolution of 4,096 counts per revolution. It is an ideal motor for generating tiny devices, e.g., pumps on a battery-driven medicinal device.
