Global Wood Fillers Market Research Report 2023-Competitive Analysis, Status and Outlook by Type, Downstream Industry, and Geography, Forecast to 2029
Wood fillers are materials used to fill in gaps, cracks, and voids in wood surfaces. Wood fillers can be water-based or solvent-based. Solvent-based fillers are made from epoxy or vinyl. Water-based fillers are a combination of wood fibers, cellulose, and gypsum to form a solid organic compound. They can be applied to the wood and then sanded or shaped to match the surrounding surface. Wood fillers are commonly used to repair and restore damaged or weathered wood, to fill in nail holes or other imperfections, and to level uneven surfaces. Wood fillers can be stained or painted to match the color of the wood, making them an effective solution for disguising blemishes and creating a smooth, seamless finish.

UC Coatings, LLC (Buffalo, New York, USA), a leader in specialty stains, sealants and coatings, and Abatron, Inc. (Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA), a leading manufacturer of wood and concrete repair and restoration products, have merged through acquisition in order to bring their combined solutions to the building products market.
From Abatron’s perspective, the synergistic merger has many benefits that will help expand the brand.
“The more people who know about our products and use them, the more we are able to offer viable solutions to problems which would otherwise be very challenging to address,” says Marsha Caporaso, president of Abatron. “The products you know and rely on from Abatron, including LiquidWood, WoodEpox, Abocrete, Aboweld 55-1, Krack Kote and more will remain unchanged and continue to offer the high-performance results you’ve come to expect. We will continue to invest in product development and will continue our manufacturing in Kenosha.”
The merger is expected to expand access to a wider range of products, along with bigger sales and service teams, increased technical capabilities, and improved supply services.
“Abatron is a great addition to U-C Coatings that will expand our specialty offerings, especially to the contractor and DIY markets,” says Eric Degenfelder, CEO of U-C Coatings. “The acquisition continues our emphasis on environmentally friendly, high performance products. We will have an even broader set of formulating capabilities using multiple chemistry types. The acquisition also broadens our manufacturing and supply footprint.”
Both companies, which are owned by High Road Capital Partners, say they will continue operations in Buffalo, Kenosha, Portland, and Seattle.
