Global Aseptic Packaging Market Research Report 2023-Competitive Analysis, Status and Outlook by Type, Downstream Industry, and Geography, Forecast to 2029
Aseptic packaging can be defined as the filling of a commercially sterile product into a sterile container under aseptic conditions and hermetically sealing the containers so that reinfection is prevented. This results in a product, which is shelf-stable at ambient conditions. The term aseptic is derived from the Greek word septicos which means the absence of putrefactive microorganisms.
Market Overview:
The latest research study on the global Aseptic Packaging market finds that the global Aseptic Packaging market reached a value of USD 54155.54 million in 2022. It’s expected that the market will achieve USD 112017.08 million by 2028, exhibiting a CAGR of 12.88% during the forecast period.
Aseptic packaging technology is fundamentally different from that of conventional Food processing by canning. In canning, the process begins with treating the Food prior to filling. Initial operations inactivate enzymes so that these will not degrade the product during processing. The package is cleaned, and the product is introduced into the package, usually hot. Generally, air that can cause oxidative damage is removed from the interior. The package is hermetically sealed and then subjected to heating. The package must be able to withstand heat up to about 100°C for high acid products and up to 127°C for low acid products, which must receive added heat to destroy heat-resistant microbial spores. Packages containing low-acid (above pH 4.5) Food must withstand pressure as well.
Limitations
Aseptic packaging industry's technical threshold is higher, the world has few enterprises with large-scale production capacity. Aseptic packaging industry downstream mainly focuses on the liquid milk and non-carbonated soft drinks industry, the downstream market has huge potential. World Aseptic packaging production enterprises often have a certain reasonable and stable gross margin. In the future, such as the macroeconomic downturn, increased competition in the industry, increased production capacity than demand, raw material costs, rising labor costs, downstream customers food safety, consumer preferences change, the industry may face the risk of decline in gross margin.
The global market technology monopoly will continue to exist, the downstream customer base is relatively stable, the price advantage is obvious, and the new entrants to the industry have higher barriers.
Opportunities
Some downstream customers, such as Mengniu, have chosen to invest in upstream raw material producers to enhance bargaining and anti-risk capabilities, which will, to a certain extent, promote the development of regional industries toward free competition.
Various countries and governments are setting up increasingly high barriers to entry of foreign enterprises to protect the development of local enterprises, more and more enterprises in developing countries have gradually begun to set up production bases in developing countries. Increasing health standards will continue to increase the pressure on dairy manufacturers, and more and more food and beverage manufacturers will move closer to the aseptic packaging.
