Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is an engineering plastic with a linear structure and excellent comprehensive properties. The molecular chains of UHMWPE are very long and aligned in the same direction. Due to the strong interaction between the molecules, the long molecular chains can more effectively transfer loads to the main chain, giving UHMWPE its high specific modulus and specific strength. UHMWPE is commonly used in ballistic materials, medical devices, and high-performance sports equipment. Aramid fibers are synthetic fibers made by polycondensation spinning from aromatic compounds. The most practical types of aramid fibers are meta-aramid 1313, which has a zigzag molecular chain, and para-aramid 1414, which has a straight molecular chain. These aramid fibers have excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength, making them valuable in protective gear, firefighting suits, aerospace, and other applications. These ultra-high-performance fibers are widely used in high-end fields such as protective equipment, aerospace, automotive manufacturing, medical, and military industries due to their unique properties.
