A three-state output shift register is a digital circuit that can store multi-bit binary data in an internal memory unit, and perform data shifting and transmission through serial input and output ports. It has a tri-state output function, that is, it can output a high level, a low level, or a high-impedance state (that is, open the circuit). A three-state output shift register is usually composed of multiple flip-flops and logic gates, and can be implemented using D flip-flops, JK flip-flops, or other types of flip-flops. Inside the register, data is stored in binary form in flip-flops and can be shifted between flip-flops. By inputting the shift timing signal into the register, the function of shifting the data to the left or right can be realized. In addition, it can expand storage capacity by connecting multiple registers in parallel.
