Sensitive Gate Silicon Controlled Rectifier, referred to as SGSCR. It is a semiconductor device that belongs to the silicon controlled silicon (SCR) family. SCR is a semiconductor switch with bidirectional conduction properties, which can realize rectification and inverter functions in DC circuits. On the basis of ordinary SCR, SGSCR adds a sensitive gate to the control signal, so that it has lower requirements on the control signal. SGSCRs typically have low trigger current and high noise immunity, making them suitable for triggering in low power logic circuits. When the trigger current applied to the control terminal exceeds the threshold of its sensitive gate, the SGSCR will be turned on and remain on until the current drops to zero or is controlled by an external circuit. SGSCR is widely used in various power control and power conditioning applications, such as AC voltage regulation, DC power control, motor control, lighting control, electric furnace control, etc. Its low trigger current and high noise immunity make SGSCR advantageous in many low power control applications. However, attention needs to be paid to its electrical characteristics and trigger parameters when using SGSCRs to ensure correct application and reliable performance.
