HBC cell is a combination of HJT and IBC battery technology. It takes advantage of the superior surface passivation performance of amorphous silicon in the HJT cell structure and the lack of metal shielding on the front of the IBC cell structure. On the front side of the n-type silicon substrate are i-a-Si:H front passivation layer, i-a-Si:H layer and anti-reflection layer; on the back side are i-a-Si:H back passivation layer, with interdigitated shapes on the passivation layer. The p-aSi:H layer and n-a-Si:H layer distributed in the shape are the emitter and BSF respectively. Both the emitter and BSF are covered with TCO films and metal contact electrodes.
