Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Position Sensor is a sensor used to monitor the position of the EGR valve. It is usually installed in the engine's exhaust gas recirculation system and is associated with the EGR valve.
The EGR valve controls how much exhaust gas is reintroduced into the engine's combustion chamber to achieve the goal of reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The function of the EGR Position Sensor is to measure the opening and closing degree or position of the EGR valve and transmit this information to the engine control unit (ECU). The ECU adjusts the operation of the EGR valve based on these data in order to achieve the best exhaust gas recirculation rate.
EGR Position Sensor usually works based on the principles of resistance, Hall effect or photoelectric effect. It will generate corresponding signals according to the movement of the EGR valve, and convert them into voltage signals or pulse signals and output them to the ECU. The ECU analyzes these signals to determine the position of the EGR valve and adjusts it as needed.
With the EGR Position Sensor, the engine control system can more precisely control the exhaust gas recirculation process, thereby improving engine performance and fuel economy and reducing emission levels.
