The global Eutectic Al-Si Alloy market size is predicted to grow from US$ 503 million in 2025 to US$ 679 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.1% from 2025 to 2031.
Eutectic Al-Si alloy is an alloy with aluminum and silicon as the main components. At a specific silicon content (about 11%-13%), the alloy will precipitate α (Al) and β (Si) phases simultaneously during solidification to form a eutectic. This alloy has been widely used in aviation, transportation, construction, automobiles and other fields due to its good casting properties, moderate strength and hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Features: Eutectic structure: Eutectic Al-Si alloy forms a eutectic composed of α (Al) and β (Si) phases during solidification. This structure makes the alloy show a unique balance in mechanical properties, with both the lightness and toughness of aluminum and the hardness and wear resistance of silicon. Good casting properties: Eutectic Al-Si alloy has good fluidity and can fill complex mold cavities to form precisely shaped castings. Its low tendency to hot cracking helps reduce casting defects and improve casting quality. Moderate strength and hardness: Compared with pure aluminum, the strength and hardness of eutectic Al-Si alloy are significantly improved, but still maintain good toughness. This moderate mechanical property enables the alloy to maintain stable performance when subjected to a certain load. Good wear resistance and corrosion resistance: The addition of silicon particles improves the wear resistance of the alloy, making it perform well in some parts that need to withstand friction and wear. At the same time, eutectic Al-Si alloy also has a certain corrosion resistance and can maintain a long service life in some corrosive environments. Machinability: Although the hardness of eutectic Al-Si alloy is relatively high, it can still be machined by cutting, drilling and other machining operations after proper heat treatment. In addition, the alloy can also be processed and formed by welding, die casting and other processes. Thermal stability: Eutectoid Al-Si alloy can maintain good dimensional stability when the temperature changes, thanks to its low thermal expansion coefficient. Price advantage: Compared with other high-performance alloys, the price of eutectic Al-Si alloy is relatively moderate, making it more cost-effective in industrial applications. Environmental protection: As a metal material, eutectic Al-Si alloy has good recyclability and reusability. In the process of waste treatment, resources can be recycled and remelted to reduce environmental pollution.
