The pipe can be connected using grooved hose couplings, threaded pipe couplings or quick-disconnect couplings. The oil baffle or filter in the cylinder head cover is used to minimize the flow of oil into the intake passage. Another function of the cylinder head cover is to serve as the oil filler port. This structure can be as simple as a hole in which the oil filler cap is screwed; it can also be a more complex oil filler pipe. The cylinder head cover also serves as a mount for sensors, including camshaft position and camshaft timing sensors. Of course, whether these sensors are included depends on the complexity of the engine.
