The ECG electrode is the part of the ECG machine or ECG monitor that is connected or in contact with the body. Lead V1 is red, and the probe electrode is placed in the 4th intercostal space on the right sternal border. Lead V2 is yellow, and the probe electrode is placed in the 4th intercostal space on the left side of the sternum. Lead V3 is green, and the probe electrode is placed at the midpoint of the line connecting V2 and V4. Lead V4 is brown, and the probe is placed at the intersection of the midclavicular line and the fifth intercostal space. Lead V5 is black, and the probe electrode is placed at the intersection of the left anterior axillary line and the fifth intercostal space. Lead V6 is purple, and the probe is placed at the intersection of the left midaxillary line and the fifth intercostal space.
