DMD digital micromirror is an advanced optical device based on the principle of optical micromirror and digital micromirror technology. Developed by Texas Instruments, it uses a microscopic array of digitally tunable mirrors to control the reflection and diffraction of light to achieve high-resolution digital image display and optical projection. The core component of the DMD digital micromirror is a tiny chip on which millions of tiny adjustable mirrors are arranged in an array. Each micromirror can be tilted and reflected independently, and its tilt angle can be controlled according to the input digital signal. The tilt and reflection of these tiny mirrors determine the path and direction of the light. In the DMD digital micromirror, the light source shines on the micro mirror array, and the tilt direction of the mirror determines the reflection direction of the light. By precisely controlling the tilt state of each micromirror, the DMD can realize the spatial and temporal modulation of light to generate the desired image. By forming different parts of the image on the micromirrors, high-resolution, high-contrast and fast digital image display and optical projection can be achieved. DMD digital micromirrors are widely used in various fields, including digital projectors, optical microscopes, photolithography machines, optical sensors, and medical imaging. It has the advantages of high brightness, high contrast, high resolution, fast response and strong programmability, and is widely recognized as an innovative optical display and optical projection technology.
