Cathodic electrophoretic coating is divided into epoxy electrophoretic paint, acrylic electrophoretic paint and polyurethane electrophoretic paint. The film forming polymer used for cathodic electrophoretic coating is cationic resin, which contains most amine groups in the resin skeleton. The neutralizer is organic acid, such as formic acid, acetic acid, lactic acid, etc. Cathodic electrophoretic coatings dissociate into cationic polymers in water. Cathodic electrophoretic coating is generally a polymer compound with amine group, which is neutralized by carboxylic acid into salt and soluble in water. During electrophoresis, it is ionized into positively charged polymer film forming ions and loaded carboxylic acid ions. The polymer film forming matter deposited on the metal surface has amine group, and the sediment does not contain metal soap.
