Bio-based film BOPLA is a new type of film obtained by using bio-degradable material polylactic acid (PLA) as raw material and using biaxial stretching technology. BOPLA is the most successful PLA film so far. After biaxial stretching and heat setting, the heat resistance temperature of PLA film can be increased to 90°C, which just makes up for the defect that PLA is not resistant to high temperature. In addition to the 100% bio-based raw materials, the film has made further breakthroughs in the processing technology - the biaxial stretching process has greatly improved the mechanical properties of the PLA film, and at the same time endowed the film with a thinner thickness, making the material collapse. The process of decomposition and microbial erosion is faster and easier to degrade. It is reported that the degradation time of BOPLA, a bio-based film material, is 400 years shorter than that of ordinary plastics. In the case of industrial composting, it can be completely degraded within half a year at the earliest.
