Global Aircraft Piston Engines Market Growth 2023-2029

Global Aircraft Piston Engines Market Growth 2023-2029

Aircraft piston engine refers to the reciprocating internal combustion engine which provides aircraft flight power, usually a four-stroke gasoline engine that ignites with a spark plug. The crankshaft turns twice, and each piston moves back and forth four times in the cylinder to complete a cycle. Each movement of the piston is called "a stroke". The four strokes are intake, compression, expansion and exhaust. It is mainly composed of crankshaft, connecting rod, piston, cylinder, air separator and casing. Some engines have a reducer at the front to slow down the output shaft. Most engines have a supercharger at the rear of the casing to improve high altitude performance of the engine. Piston aircraft engines are multi-cylinder engines, with at least 4 cylinders and as many as 28. According to the cylinder cooling mode is divided into liquid - cooled engine and air - cooled engine. According to the form of cylinder arrangement is divided into linear engine and star engine. Star air - cooled engines are used more. From the world's first aircraft in 1903 until the end of World War II, all aircraft used piston aeroengines as power units.Since the mid-1940s, gas turbine engines have gradually replaced piston aircraft engines in military aircraft and large civil aircraft. However, low-power piston aircraft engines are more economical than gas turbine engines and are still used in light and low-speed aircraft.
