North America Vacuum Circuit Breaker Market Size, Share & Industry Trends Analysis Report By Voltage, By Industry (Utilities, Industrial, Commercial, and Residential), By Installation Location, By Country and Growth Forecast, 2023 - 2030

The North America Vacuum Circuit Breaker Market would witness market growth of 4.9% CAGR during the forecast period (2023-2030).

A vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) is an electrical switching device that stops current flow across a circuit, allowing it to be controlled and protected. The arc quenching medium, which is used in this system, is a vacuum. The vacuum interrupter, which makes up a VCB, is the main part in charge of interrupting the current. A moving contact and a fixed contact are both parts of the vacuum interrupter, which is housed in a vacuum-sealed chamber. The contacts are closed while the circuit is operating normally, allowing current to pass across it.

The VCB identifies abnormalities or faults, such as short circuits or overcurrent, and starts the opening process. Due to the current flow, an arc is produced as the contacts of the VCB start to separate. Contrarily, the strong electric field across the contacts in the vacuum induces electron emission from the contact surface, which ionizes the chamber's remaining gas molecules and produces an extremely conductive plasma arc channel. The vacuum environment ensures effective arc quenching by preventing the arc from restriking.

The vacuum interrupter's arc quenching function quickly extinguishes the arc, interrupting current flow. Current interruption is necessary for safeguarding electrical equipment, avoiding damage, and preserving the stability of the electrical system. Vacuum circuit breakers are frequently employed in many different applications, such as power distribution networks, substations, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and renewable energy projects. They have benefits, including high reliability, quick fault resolution, compact design, low maintenance needs, and environmental friendliness because of the lack of insulating or arc-quenching gases.

The Canadian Electrical Association estimates that 350 billion dollars will need to be invested in the electrical industry over the next 20 years. In addition, the US Department of Energy recently announced USD 220 million in funds for businesses run by an array of national laboratories to aid in the nation's power grid upgrading during the next years. Approximately five million kilometers of electrical cables and about 3300 utility companies comprise the US grid system, which distributes electricity from many energy plants to 150 million customers. Therefore, it is projected that during the forecast period, these variables will present businesses operating in the regional market with profitable growth prospects.

The US market dominated the North America Vacuum Circuit Breaker Market by Country in 2022, and would continue to be a dominant market till 2030; thereby, achieving a market value of $265.1 Million by 2030. The Canada market is exhibiting a CAGR of 7.2% during (2023 - 2030). Additionally, The Mexico market would showcase a CAGR of 6.3% during (2023 - 2030).
