On the surface, the substantial fat and calorie content of nuts may make people believe that they should consume them in moderation. However, due to the abundance of nutrients in even a tiny serving, nutritionists have long advocated eating nuts. Nuts may reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and weight gain, according to a number of studies.
Now, research from Harvard University has discovered that only a few servings of nuts each week may help maintain the health of the heart. The researchers examined data from many healthcare workers spanning as much as 32 years from the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study.
The findings that these researchers found were published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Lower risk of cardiovascular disease and coronary heart disease was observed in those who consumed an ounce of nuts five or more times per week as compared to those who never or almost never did. In a separate study, the researchers examined the health advantages of eating peanuts, walnuts, and peanut butter.
The demand in this region has expanded because of the surge in demand for far more nutrient-dense foods as well as the challenges presented by a large population with a high obesity rate. According to the 2019 data from the Center for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries, Europe is among the world's top importers of walnuts, making up approximately half of all imports. Due to a consumption trend toward better eating, walnut imports entering Europe are rising.
