In suction devices, a negative pressure is produced by portable suction equipment and directed via a unique plastic connecting tube called a single-use catheter. Any blood, mucus, or other similar fluids are drawn out of the throat by a vacuum created by the negative pressure. A collecting container is then automatically filled with the secretions. Suction devices depend on a few basic technologies to create negative pressure and remove secretions.
Suction machines are equipped with solid batteries to enable them to function even in the absence of a steady power supply. The vacuum pump is often found within the aspirator. This generates negative pressure, which is required for a suction machine to work. A Connecting tubing ties the collecting canister and vacuum pump together. It must never come in contact with anything within the collecting container. Patient tubing should be appropriately disposed of after each suctioning session since it connects to the suctioning tip and transports the patient’s secretions into the collecting canister.
