Europe Edge AI Hardware Market Size, Share & Industry Trends Analysis Report By Function (Inference and Training), By Device Type, By Component (Processor, Memory and Sensor & Others), By Vertical, By Country and Growth Forecast, 2022 - 2028
The Europe Edge AI Hardware Market would witness market growth of 16.7% CAGR during the forecast period (2022-2028).
FPGA is reconfigurable digital logic with programmable logic blocks and reconfigurable connectivity hierarchy. Since an FPGA is not a processor, it cannot execute a program stored in memory. A hardware description language (HDL) is used to configure an FPGA, which is genuinely parallel, unlike a regular CPU. This means that a dedicated portion of the chip is assigned to each independent processing task, although multiple portions of the same program can be executed concurrently.
In addition, a typical FPGA may contain specialized memory blocks, a digital clock manager, IO banks, and a variety of other functionalities that vary between models. While a GPU is designed for efficient performance with similar threads on distinct input subsets, an FPGA is designed for serial sequential parallel execution of the same application.
AI chips, like all other general-purpose CPUs, enhance speed and efficiency by adding a massive number of ever-smaller transistors, which operate quicker and spend less energy than larger transistors. But unlike CPUs, AI chips include additional AI-optimized design features. These qualities accelerate identical, predictable, independent calculations that AI algorithms require.
One of the most important sectors throughout Europe is the automobile manufacturing sector in each region. The Automotive Industry is reportedly one of the most significant sectors in Italy, according to the International Trade Administration (ITA). In 2019, sales reached almost €106 billion, which is equivalent to approximately $119 billion. This represents 11% of Italy's manufacturing output and 6.2% of the country's GDP.
