As of 2021, the automotive industry in Malaysia employed over 700,000 people, including those in manufacturing, sales, and after-sales services.

Malaysian government has introduced initiatives to boost the automotive sector, such as the National Automotive Policy (NAP). This policy aims to enhance the competitiveness of the industry, encourage research and development, and create high-skilled job opportunities.

By Organization Size: In 2022, the automotive workforce is dominated by organization size of >200.>73% of the respondents were part of large organizations, i.e. ones that have more than 200 employees, therefore helping us gauge the broader trend in the industry.
