Summary

Ammonium thiocyanate is an inorganic substance with the Pesticides formula NH4SCN, colorless crystals. It is irritating, deliquescent, soluble in water and ethanol, soluble in methanol and acetone, and almost insoluble in chloroform and ethyl acetate. Its aqueous solution is blood red when it meets iron salt solution, but it has no reaction when it meets ferrous salt. When the dried product is heated to 159°C, it does not decompose but melts. When heated to 170°C, the molecule turns into thiourea. The relative density is 1.305. The melting point is about 149°C.
