This IDC study provides semiconductor market shares across primary client devices for 1Q22."Primary client processor vendors are increasingly leveraging IP across products for smartphones, media tablets, and PCs, and they are doing so in various ways," said Phil Solis, research director for Connectivity and Smartphone Semiconductors, IDC. "This includes sharing an increasing number of IP blocks across chips targeting different device types as well as chips spanning more than one device type. This is the engine behind device evolution that will lead to a more drastic evolution of devices in the coming years."
