This IDC study represents the updated five-year forecast of the worldwide mobile phone market for 2024–2028."The first three quarters of 2024 provide ample evidence that the worldwide mobile phone market is on track to rebound following two years of decline," said Ramon T. Llamas, research director, Mobile Devices and AR/VR at IDC. "A combination of lower ASPs and a proliferation of low-cost devices heading into emerging markets have acted as the driver thus far, and the recent flagship releases will put 2024 volumes over the top. Beyond that, we expect slow growth in the years to come."
