This IDC study provides our updated 2023–2027 forecast for the managed print and document services and basic print services market. There are many factors fueling growth among SMB customers, not the least of which is the fact that the SMB market is less impacted by the ongoing issues around return to work and a transition to flexible work policies. At the same time, most SMB customers are first-time adopters of MPDS and print management. As a result, these customers are heavily influenced by features that provide added value and drive increased productivity, which means a focus on cloud, IoT, mobility, and security."IDC believes that print is poised to rapidly transition to a print-as-a-service model," says Robert Palmer, research vice president, IDC's Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions.
