Worldwide and U.S. Comprehensive Security Services Forecast, 2024–2028

This IDC study presents the new five-year forecast for security services. Security service providers (SPs) are seeing continued needs around incident readiness and response, vulnerability management, and risk concerns, which are positively impacting the spend for a myriad of security services. "At this juncture, there is really no reason for security SPs to be less than optimistic about the market for managed, consulting, or training services across the board," said Scott Tiazkun, research manager, Security Services, IDC. "The constant need to stay current around regulatory and compliance needs coupled with the desire for enterprises to reduce risk in all its forms guarantees an abundance of cyberinitiatives that need to be addressed. However, understanding what cyber pain points are needed for specific industries or business processes allows for service providers to distinguish themselves from competitors, along with the ability to explain and utilize GenAI for clients."
