VMware Explore Barcelona: Focus on Private AI, Application Delivery, Edge, and Sovereign Cloud
This IDC Market Perspective summarizes key takeaways from VMware Explore Europe, held in Barcelona on November 7 and 8, 2023. VMware Explore Europe is one of the software company's largest global events, with 8,000 in attendance this year. Partners, customers, analysts, and press attend to hear about VMware's latest services and wares and discuss initiatives across the digital ecosystem. In recent years, many of these conversations were narrowing in on cloud, this year, artificial intelligence was added to the mix, as well as edge and sovereign cloud solutions. "VMware's focus on Private AI was well received by customers that would like to understand their options as they are starting to adopt AI solutions," said Carla Arend, associate vice president for Cloud Research in Europe. "With the Broadcom acquisition completed, customers and partners are watching closely what the strategic priorities of VMware will be in the next six to 12 months."
