This IDC Market Note discusses the FinOps Foundation’s latest annual State of FinOps Survey released on February 20, 2025. Companies continue to grow and expand FinOps staffing and scope. IDC found that most enterprises operate in hybrid mode while spending heavily on public cloud and SaaS. FinOps teams need to leverage the Cloud+ strategy to include private cloud spending, SaaS, and AI investment in their scope to drive transparency. Teams have many options when selecting vendors to manage this new scope but should be careful to avoid tool sprawl.
