South Africa IT Services Market Share, 2022: Competitive Landscape in the Digital Business Era
This IDC Market Share study reviews the top IT services providers in South Africa taken from the IDC Worldwide Services Tracker. Market shares are derived from information collected from IT and business services providers, as well as from additional IDC primary research and information presented in the public domain. "During 2022, negative market conditions weighed down revenue performance in services. While many customers increased their overall spend in local currency terms, currency fluctuations led to a year-on-year reduction of top-line revenues in U.S. dollars. Customers are also making use of a greater spread of specialist suppliers, particularly in cloud-related services, security, data/analytics, and other specialist areas, which saw individual suppliers often receiving a smaller slice of an otherwise growing pie. There is a strong focus among large enterprises on internal transformation, application modernization, and operational excellence; this is expected to grow services revenue in the coming years. Suppliers should invest in subject-matter expertise and vertical specialization to win a greater share of these large transformation deals." — Jonathan Tullett, associate research director, IT services, Sub-Saharan Africa, IDC
