U.S. Smart Home Device Market Shares, 2021: Amazon and Google Lead in Volume, Samsung Leads in Value
This IDC study discusses the U.S. smart home device market shares for 2021."The COVID-19 pandemic served as a net boon to the U.S. smart home market in 2020 and 2021 as consumers shifted their spending priorities in-house to overcome many of the pandemic's restrictions," says Adam Wright, senior research analyst for IDC's Smart Home and Office Devices research program. "Networked entertainment devices like smart TVs and streaming players helped bolster companies like Amazon, Google, and Samsung, while other devices like smart security systems and smart appliances also helped buoy the market. Yet while brand ecosystems are etching deeper, the market as a whole remains fragmented and patchworks of disparate devices are threatening to inhibit the market's growth for the near term."
