What We Saw: U.S. Consumer and Office Print Activity, 2Q22

This IDC Market Perspective provides an update on office and consumer printer shipment activity in the second quarter of 2022 for the United States."In the second quarter, printer and MFP demand continued to exceed supply. However, shipments improved sequentially, as the vendors deftly managed supply chain challenges. Shipments remained below historical levels in the second quarter, but price increases accelerated, as vendors sought to absorb high shipping and labor costs and maximize profits. Additional price hikes can be expected through at least the rest of the year as product availability is expected to remain constrained into 2023." — Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, IDC's Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions
