SAS Insight 2025: Analytics for Defense and National Security

This IDC Market Note looks at the announcements and discussions from the SAS Insight 2025 industry analyst conference. The event highlighted the significant changes and improvements that SAS has gone through to both align its products with the current direction of the market and to prepare for an eventual IPO. Key announcements for the defense and intelligence community included announcements around transition paths to a cloud environment for current SAS users, an increased partner network to improve customer access, and the continued development of technologies in areas critical to the defense industry including AI, quantum computing, and digital twins. “Analytics and data, along with AI and quantum computing, are all critical technologies for the defense industry and militaries. SAS has positioned itself well to be an effective but nontraditional partner to help various national security agencies and programs fulfill their mission,” said Alan Webber, IDC program vice president for Defense and Intelligence.
